For many years I've contemplated quitting sugar. For health reasons and just to test my will/self-control. It wasn't until recently, when my Aunt Gretchen challenged some of my family members to join her in a #NoSugarJuly, that I actually took it seriously. So, I've did a little research and found a book by Sarah Wilson called I Quit Sugar. Her story was inspirational and super relatable to me.
You must realize that I'm naturally a sugar addict. I was born this way; I can't help myself. I'm a little scared that my addiction is worse than I thought! But, I'm doing it. Testing myself and my limits. There is a group of us and we start tomorrow! Join the movement: #NoSugarJuly (look for this hashtag on FB & Instagram) Here are some answers to questions you might have: Are you serious? Yes. How long are you going to go without sugar? My plan is to start with the 8 week detox and hopefully continue to make this my lifestyle. Why are you doing it? Like I said before I've always wanted to try it and test myself but I've also had some health issues recently and some experts have linked my symptoms to sugar. So I'm going to see if this helps me at all. You may think I'm crazy or you may want to join but either way leave a comment or email us and tell us what you think! Xoxo Jess

The Creator We all create things to “custom-fit” our lives. We are the CREATORS of our own excitement, sadness, intrigue, etc. The twists and turns in life can seem spontaneous and unexpected, but in reality they are the results of decisions made in blind understanding of what really lies ahead. How does this seem fair?! We have no choice but to live each moment unknowingly impacting the future of our world every time another breath leaves our bodies!! Anxiety? Reservations? Doubt? How about…Hope? Faith? Love? Oh yes, the latter is preferred, yet unattainable? SO WRONG! We can spend every minute of our day creating various things to occupy our sanity, but we have the ULTIMATE CREATOR holding us in His lap to take care of everything… I love to create things. Crochet a blanket. Paint a skyline. Bake a treat. Most use these to outlet and distract from tribulations or even simple daily anguish; I’m no different. Why wouldn’t I use these to build my relationship with THE Creator? You’re right, why wouldn’t I do that? …from now on: Crochet a blanket to keep someone warm. Paint a skyline to make someone smile. Bake a treat to feed a hungry tummy. Use the time needed to create these treasures praying for inspiration and direction from the only One that can truly create beauty. **inhale** **exhale** Thank you, God, for the talent to create and the drive to do it for You.
