Hello my faithful followers.
Welcome back! I’ve been wanting to come back and write for a very long time, but I “couldn’t find the time”. Well that excuse went out the window the second I shifted my mindset to “I will make the time.” Being a mom of two sweet, busy babies under the age of two (only for a few more weeks!), I have found myself slipping over and over again into the thought that “I don’t have time” to pursue a lot of my hearts desires. That is such a dangerous place to live in, because if you aren’t taking the time to truly do what your heart and soul thrive for, you are allowing a part of who you are die. I don’t know to what extent, but I know that writing is a part of my purpose. And I’ve taken back control of my life, my mindset, my heart, my time, my happiness. I have committed to myself that I will take the time to write. I’ll start with a minimum of one post a week and go from there. In honor of turning 24 yesterday (happy birthday to me!), I wanted to write out 24 things that I am truly grateful for. I think it is so important to live and love from a place of complete gratitude. 24. My mentors. I have so many people that I look up to and who help guide me in this life. I am so appreciative to everyone who coaches, encourages, and lifts me up to be the best version of myself. 23. Laughter. So much of my day is filled with laughter and joy. From my sweet babies, my silly husband, and so many other things, I am so glad God gave us the ability to express our joy and humor in an often involuntary and slightly embarrassing manner. I love laughter! 22. Writing. Even though it’s been a while since I have been able to write consistently, there is such a freedom and release of self-expression that I find in writing. I can’t wait to continue being able to pursue my passion for writing. 21. Wine. I’m not going to try and pretend I don’t absolutely appreciate and find joy in drinking the occasional glass of wine. I prefer red wine, and I like it chilled. Yes I now usually red wine is not chilled but I find it more refreshing that way. 20. Air conditioning units. When we lived in California, none of the units had AC and living in a place that is so hot and humid already, I am so thankful to have the option for cold air. 19. My apartment building. It may be an expensive place to live, but with the amazing people who work here taking care of everything that goes wrong and being so friendly, it really has made living here so incredibly worth it. Shoutout to The Bozzuto Group for hiring such amazing people. Emma and Elijah absolutely love everyone who works here and they are the sweetest to us all. 18. Avocados. Such an amazing source of a healthy fat as well as freaking delicious. They deserve their own number haha. 17. Food. Whether you think food if fun or just fuel, food is amazing! I literally am such a big foodie, and I love expanding my knowledge of food (hence why I’m studying Nutrition Communication!) as well as my cooking skills. I won’t be able to name all the food I love (lol because I rarely find a food I don’t love!), but to name some of my family favorites: Salmon (!!!!!!!!), tilapia (fish tacos), chicken (grilled is best), sweet potatoes, pizza (omg yes I still love and eat pizza sometimes), Brussels sprouts (we actually are growing some in our “garden”), salads (I know… but naming all the ingredients that can go into salads would take too long), bell peppers and mushrooms in eggs (my little family literally eats soooooooooo many eggs every week), quinoa & brown rice packets (from Costco), OH MY GOODNESS the list could go on forever… :D 16. FaceTime. This one is huge!! When I was giving birth to my son, my husband was away on deployment, and was able to be there to support me and love me and see our son for the first time with me via FaceTime. It’s how I really connect with my family and friends who live all over the country and world. I am so so grateful for technology. 15. Podcasts. Because being a human in the 21st century means we are BUSY and sometimes don’t MAKE the time to sit and read, so podcasts have been my saving grace. This way, I am daily pouring into my soul and expanding my mind, even when I’m on the go. 14. Network Marketing! (*gasp*) Yes. I said it. To those of you who don’t know, Network Marketing is actually NOT scary, in most cases NOT a scam, and is NOT something to bash. It’s a new way of doing business that gives people more freedom to create the life they want while working from and when works for them. In my case, I get to be a Stay at Home (or more appropriately Work at Home) Mom! I get to invest my time and energy into the people who deserve it most (myself and my family!) while creating an additional stream of income for my family! 13. Healthy lifestyle nutrition systems. Well just one in particular. Without my daily intake of nutrient-dense food, I would probably implode. I don’t actually know because I’ve been using these products since I was in high school, and I couldn’t last a day without them because they are convenient and delicious and everything a young (or old) mama (or just human) needs to exceed in life. 12. Exercise. I may have taken a very long hiatus from working out, but I am back on the grind now and I am so grateful for how happy I feel when I get to move and work my body and my muscles. 11. Sunshine. This mama runs best on mass amounts of Vitamin D. * (that’s my makeshift sun, since computers don’t do emojis, lol) 10. Water. The only way my body functions every day is with lots and lots and lots of water (and lots and lots and lots of trips to the bathroom to pee). 9. Coffee. I just… Enough said. Coffee. <3 8. Myself. My mind, soul, and body. Every day I push it to new lengths and I am constantly blown away at how well it functions, even without my help. 7. Every single one of my dear friends. Anyone who pours love and life into me and brings joy to my heart. I would need a lot more than 24 spaces to write down each beautiful name. Just know, if you think even on the smallest scale that you belong on here, you absolutely and completely do. I love you all! 6. My family. Both immediate, extended, and anyone who is an honorary member of my family. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without each of you helping shape me into who I know as an incredibly hard-working, passionate and loving human. I don’t see you all regularly but my love for you is endless. 5. My ever-patient, gentle fur-st baby Meika. Who has loyally been by my side through so many of life’s toughest days, and is always happy to see me walk through the door. 4. My darling, handsome son Elijah. He is sensitive and energetic and his dimples slay me. 3. My sweet, brilliant daughter Emma. Daily she blows me away with her vibrant love for life and passion for learning. Her giggles and kisses melt my heart. 2. My husband, Zach. Who has loved and cherished me so much and gently guided me back to the person he knows I am and can be. I love you baby. 1. God. I will unapologetically proclaim my love and life to God, every single day. There are so, so many things and people to be grateful for in this life, and there’s one more that I would like to mention: YOU! I am so thankful that you are all here reading this, and allowing me to be a part of your day by giving you insight into mine. I would love to hear at least three things that each of you are thankful/grateful for. Comment, email, or message me. I just want to hear from all of you (: As always, I pray that you are blessed and encouraged. sincerely, t
